SkinSteps

Privacy policy

What little data this site touches, and what we do with it. Short, because the site is simple.

SkinSteps is a static website. There are no user accounts, no logins, and no advertising networks tracking you across the web. This page explains the few places data is involved.

Analytics

SkinSteps uses Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC and Google Ireland Ltd., to see which guides are read. It measures pages viewed, the referring site, approximate location (city or country), device and browser type, and session timing. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Advertising features, Google signals and ad personalisation are off; we do not build advertising profiles and we do not sell any data.

GA4 sets the first-party cookies _ga and _ga_<ID>, which last up to two years, and only after analytics is allowed.

In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, you are asked first through a banner, and nothing is sent to Google unless you click Accept. In other places analytics is on by default, and you can switch it off at any time. Browsers that send the Global Privacy Control signal are treated as opted out. Your choice is kept in your browser's local storage under the key analytics-consent rather than in a cookie.

Use Cookie settings to change your analytics choice. Google's privacy policy covers Google's side, and Google's opt-out add-on turns Google Analytics off in your browser.

The email form

If you enter an email address to get update notes, it is used only to send those notes and nothing else. You can unsubscribe at any time, and asking us to delete your address removes it for good.

Some links leave this site for the official Minecraft Marketplace or a gift-card reseller, and a few of those are affiliate links. Once you follow one, that other company’s privacy policy applies. See our affiliate disclosure for the details.
